Lady Justice of the Land

This body painting project was for Fantasy Forest body painting competition 2024. My inspiration besides the amazing model was the concept or archetype of Lady Justice. what it can represent in these strange times of obvious absence of it. I was bringing in the idea that mycellium, mushrooms are interconnecting us all, and that regrowth can emerge if we can connect with it. Although I was mostly touched by the conflict of Palestine/Israel and focused on mushrooms, leaves and landscapes from the area, I didn’t want to make it nation specific as the concept applies to interconnectedness beyond borders, and specific to justice for our planet, its nature and its its inhabitants regardless of species.
